Skin tightening with PDO mono threads
PDO (polydioxanone) is a resorbable material that has been used in medicine for many years. In aesthetic treatment, mono threads made from it are inserted finely into the skin.
They do not work by mechanical pulling but by stimulating the skin from within: the threads stimulate the body’s own collagen and elastin production. This improves skin density, increases elasticity and gradually tightens the skin with a natural effect.
In principle, PDO mono threads can be used in many areas where the skin is losing firmness and fine tightening and regeneration are wanted.
Results
- First changes visible after a few weeks
- Full effect after approx. 2–3 months, once new collagen has built up
- Skin looks denser, more elastic and firmer
- How long it lasts: 12–18 months on average, depending on skin type and lifestyle
Tightens the skin by building up collagen and elastin Improves skin texture, density and firmness Natural result without adding volume or a foreign-body feeling The threads dissolve completely (biocompatible & resorbable) Can be used as a single treatment or combined with other treatments
Face: cheeks, chin, jawline, forehead, temples, eye area Neck & décolleté: to tighten and improve skin quality Body: abdomen (e.g. after pregnancy or weight loss), upper arms, thighs, knees
Before the treatment, a local anaesthetic cream is applied (approx. 30 minutes). The mono threads are then inserted into the skin with fine cannulas. Duration of the actual treatment: approx. 30–60 minutes, depending on the area and number of threads. Slight swelling or small bruises may occur after the treatment and disappear on their own over the following days.
